The sesame seed...

So, this week Baby D is growing and is approx. the size of a sesame seed.

Not quite cake but close!

Or as I discovered this week about the size of the head on the screw that joins the arm of a pair of glasses to the frame.  I think mum found this a little odd when I told her but she is also very excited at becoming a Grandma or possibly Grammy, as she is known at home to Ali's dog, Charlie.

Not a lot to report this week, a few episodes of squiffiness quickly remedied with food and, touch wood, no sickness!

I am under strict instructions (from mum) not to heave anything about, which has led to plans being set afoot for getting my accordion in and out of band rehearsal every Wednesday evening.  This week we managed it by car sharing and mum carrying everything in and out.
For those that are reading this wondering what I am on about.  I've played accordion since the age of about 12 and having taken various exams and participated in various music festivals over the years.  I now play bass accordion in Solent Accordions, with my mum, occasionally Ali will come along to beef up numbers and in years gone by my brother and my aunt played in the group too so its quite the family affair.  Anyway these instruments are fairly heavy and as the bass is plugged into an amp that 2 lots of heaving that I normally do!  So you can see why the next few weeks might start to look a bit odd to those watching my mum doing the lifting and not me!

The band at a concert we did at Fawley church. I am at the back, Ali is off to the right with the red accordion and mum is directly to the left of Andrew, the conductor.
All immediate family have now been told about "our news" and by far the best reaction was from my brother, Rob.   Thankfully when he started with "so, er, how, um" he didn't require the birds and the bees chat but brief details about peeing on a stick and keeping it quiet for a few weeks - all being well.
Although not quite family but as dear to me as my own, Gems squeal on my voice-mail and images of her "jumping around" while walking the dog made me smile for hours and came a close second :o)

xx
